In the style of Gulliver's Travels, Jonathan is a young boy who lives along the Pacific coast around the turn of the century. A terrific storm blows his sailboat to an uncharted island where he encounters very strange local customs--all of which symbolize ways that politics interferes with individual liberty and personal responsibility. A woman tree worker attaches a sharp metal piece to the end of a stick and is promptly arrested for threatening the laborious tradition of knocking down trees with sticks. Jonathan is asked by candle makers to help them ban light from the sun. The Food Police arrest farmers who produce too much. For not paying the zoo tax, citizens are removed from their natural habitat. Uncle Samta takes charge of Xmas to eliminate chaos and religious symbolism. Political cafeterias are established to provide equal nutrition to all. The best students fail while the worst students are rewarded. Ways of feeling good becomes criminal. Housing is closed to all but the influential. The Democracy Gang demonstrates the principle of Divine Right of Majorities. For those who are looking for a fun and interesting expose of political subversion of the free market and personal liberties, this is the hard core version.
