Introduction:
Dr. Elfie Hinterkopf is an international workshop
leader, a Certified Focusing Trainer, and a psychotherapist in private practice
in Austin, Texas. She studied Focusing with Dr. Eugene Gendlin at the University
of Chicago, has been teaching Focusing for more than twenty-five years,
and has published many articles and a book on Focusing. She has been approved
to prepare people for Focusing trainer certification. Dr. Hinterkopf taught
counseling psychology at thegraduate level for six years, directed a National
Institute of Mental Health research project, and served as a PeaceCorps
volunteer in India. She has been a national presenter for the American Counseling
Association
and has presented Focusing workshops for spiritual directors around the
world.
