Lychee

"Litchi chinensis"

The Lychee tree was introduced to Hawaii in 1873 from China. The fruit or nut of the tree is a favorite treat for the locals of Hawaii and is eaten raw, dried, or canned. The wood is very hard, and dense and will require good sharp blades to make clean cuttings. The wood is usually 3-7" in width and 1 to 5 feet in length. We do have, on occasion, some beautiful slabs which can be used as table tops, countertops or whatever your fancy leads you. to create.

Lychee is stocked mostly in 4/4 thickness and retails for $6.50 a board foot.
